bug gets his big B!

This was an experiment of both analog animation and photopolymer plate making/printing. Celebrating my kittens first birthday, this print is composed of 3 layers of silkscreen, and 2 layers of polymer printed on a Vandercook. I then scanned my favorites in, and composited in After Effects.

Found Objects print

4 layer 4.5"x4.5" print exploring found objects and yearning.The first layer of this print is made from a star I crocheted, mounted on chipboard and built up until type high, and ran on the press. The second layer is the same process except composed of a quarter, penny, and a dragonfly charm. Third and 4th layers are screen printed lyrics from a It's Something I Do by Frog. Final edition of 25.

Queen of Hearts

For this project, we were assigned to create new imagery from wood type letterforms and I was inspired to create a one off playing card. The final print is composed from 6 layers, 3 layers of letterpress and 3 layers of silkscreen. Final edition is 25 copies.

Exploration of Image

Using an image from my favorite movie, I split the photo into its cyan, yellow, magenta, and black layers. I then printed each layer on transparency, (excluding cyan) and spiral bound.
